Chicago Fire FC, the Chicago Fire Foundation and Joe Mansueto have teamed up with By The Hand Club for Kids, Grace and Peace Revive Center and Intentional Sports to break ground on the first-of-its-kind professional-level facility for sports, education and wellness. On August 11, 2021, a ceremony took place at the future 10-acre campus in North Austin unveiling the project. The multi-million-dollar donations will go toward building a facility which will provide access to sports and other programming for kids. The Chicago Fire FC (CFFC) has committed $5 million over five years and will be the future home of the Foundation’s P.L.A.Y.S. Program (linked). CFFC has also committed to 20 hours of free soccer programming including FC77, clinics, camps, mentorship opportunities, coach training and more. Through this programming, we will be able to develop a deeper relationship within the West Side community and provide resources and opportunities that they may not have otherwise. The facility is projected to open in late Summer 2022.
