EA Sports FIFA series has always had a role to play in the American soccer landscape. It's what taught this writer about the likes of Scunthorpe United and Clermont Foot. It also gave me the chance to manage and represent the Fire to many great successes.
Over the years, EA Sports has better developed the MLS side of their popular FIFA series and with the growth in Major League Soccer, they're seeing a return on that initiative. As the infographic below spells out, MLS and FIFA are hand-in-hand increasing the popularity of the game in the United States.
Interestingly enough, the Chicago Fire are the fourth most popular MLS team being used in 867,000 FIFA 15 matches played since the game's release in September.
Moreover, EA Sports has seen a 112% increase in players playing with an MLS club between last year's edition of the game and FIFA 15. Incredible growth, no doubt.
