Chicago Fire Academy Midfielder Sergio Oregel Called Up to U-15 U.S. Boy’s National Team

CHICAGO (March 3, 2020) Chicago Fire Academy midfielder Sergio Oregel has been called up to the U-15 U.S. Boys’ National Team for its first training camp of the year in Chula Vista, Calif., from March 1-8.


Oregel, a Chicago, Ill., native, earned his first call-up in June 2019 when he was part of the initial rollout of U.S. Soccer’s Youth National Team U-14 TID program. Most recently, Oregel was a member of the U.S. U-15 Boys’ National Team that took part in the UEFA Development Tournament in Poland. The USA defeated Iceland 2-1 before taking penalty shootout losses to Poland and Russia.


In total, thirty-six players -- all born in 2005 -- will attend the team’s first event of the year. All but three, including every player based in the U.S., is competing in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.
