After picking up his team-leading ninth assist of 2019 in Saturday night's 1-0 road win against the Houston Dynamo, Chicago Fire midfielder Nicolás Gaitán has been named to the MLS Team of the Week bench for Week 22.
Gaitán helped deliver the game's only goal in first half stoppage time, when he served a left-footed ball into the Houston 18-yard box coming out of a corner kick. The pass found forward Nemanja Nikolić, who put an acrobatic redirection past goalkeeper Tyler Deric to send the Fire to the locker room with a lead they would not relinquish.
