BRIDGEVIEW, Ill.(June 4, 2019) - The Chicago Fire Academy enjoyed a successful weekend against local side FC United, winning all matches across five age levels and sending its Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 teams to the 2019 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs in the process. The Fire is one of only five MLS Clubs to have all of its eligible teams make playoffs.

The Fire U13s started the weekend strong and set a high bar for their older Club mates on Saturday morning with a 5-2 win via an Aiden Frick hat trick and goals from Makhi Francis and Nicholas Mitrega. Not to be outdone, the Fire U15s then put up five goals of their own -- from five different players -- in a 5-1 win. Wyatt Borso, Noeh Hernandez, Matija Mitrovic, Ryan Quintos, and Max Viera all tallied for the young Men In Red, helping secure their side's place in the USSDA Playoffs.

Amari Fowlkes and Carlos Nevarez helped power the Fire U14s to a 2-1 win as the second set of matches began, while a Missael Rodriguez brace and an additional goal from David Mysiuk wrapped up a 3-1 victory and a spot in the playoffs for the Fire U17s to close out Saturday's matches.

The Fire U19s capped the weekend with a 4-1 win on Sunday morning to punch their ticket to California as well. Forward Victor Bezerra, who recently committed to Indiana University, netted twice on the SeatGeek Stadium academy field, while Patrick Ajdukiewicz and Gilberto Angeles each scored once. Players on the U19 team have committed to play at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Indiana University, Marquette University, Northern Illinois University, University of Illinois at Chicago and Valparaiso University. The loss eliminated FC United’s U19 team from the playoffs.

Held in Oceanside, CA, the 2019 USSDA Summer Showcase and Playoffs will run from June 17-29, with the ensuing 2019 Championship taking place in Irvine, CA July 8-11.
