Sean Johnson Garners AT&T MLS Save of the Week Nomination

Week 19 Save of the Week

Sean Johnson stood tall on multiple occasions in the Fire's 1-0 blanking of Seattle Sounders FC Saturday at Toyota Park, perhaps none moreso than in the 68th minute. Johnson alertly reacted to a free kick sent into the penalty area that took a deflection toward Sounders forward Andy Craven, coming fearlessly off his line to take Craven's volley in the chest.

Johnson’s effort has him in contention for AT&T MLS Save of the Week honors. The other finalists are Montreal’s Evan Bush, Houston’s Tyler Deric, Seattle’s Troy Perkins and New England’s Bobby Shuttleworth. Click the video above to watch all five nominated saves for week 19.
