Chicago Fire FC forward Robert Berić has been included in the first MLS Team of the Week of the 2021 regular season after scoring and assisting in Saturday's 2-2 opening weekend draw with the New England Revolution.
The Fire's 2020 Golden Boot Award winner picked up right where he left off last season, capping a brilliant team buildup with a goal that gave the Fire the lead just five minutes into the match.
Berić then assisted on the Fire's second goal just six minutes later, pulling down a cross from Przemysław Frankowski and placing it into the path of Luka Stojanović, who was wide open to finish.
Berić was also awarded Heineken Man of the Match honors for his efforts. Up next, he'll look to make it a scoring streak as the Fire head south to take on Atlanta United this Saturday, April 24, at 7 p.m. CT.
