Lineup Notes | Chicago Fire FC at FC Cincinnati

Chicago will finish off a four-game road stretch against the top team in the Eastern Conference following a scoreless draw against Toronto FC earlier this week.

The Fire extended their unbeaten run to four matches across all competitions with the result at BMO Field and looks to finish strong before returning to Chicago for another two matches in the coming week.

Kickoff against Cincinnati is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and the match will also be transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM and in English on wlsam.com. The WLS-AM broadcast will feature a 30-minute pre-match show, beginning at 6:00 p.m. CT, followed by a 30-minute post-match show directly following the match.

  • Six changes were made to the lineup that faced Toronto FC in Matchday 16 on Wednesday, March 31 at BMO Field, with head coach Frank Klopas rotating the squad set to play its ninth match in the last month.
  • Forward Kacper PrzybyÅ‚ko returns to the 11 after alternating the previous match with Kei Kamara starting up front.
  • Brian Gutiérrez returns to the XI for the first time May 20 against Atlanta, guiding the attack alongside Georgios Koutsias who starts for the third consecutive time.
  • Jairo Torres makes his third start of the season, while Federico Navarro starts for a third straight match and Fabian Herbers is set to make his 10th start of the campaign. With his 10th start, Herbers, the team’s longest tenured player, has made double-digit starts in each of the last four seasons for the Fire.
  • Alonso Aceves earns his second start of the campaign, alongside Arnaud Souquet, Wyatt Omsberg and Kendall Burks, with Omsberg spelling captain Rafael Czichos.
  • Goalkeeper Spencer Richey backstops the group from the outset for the second time in League play this season. Richey recently helped lead the team to a 2-0 win over Austin FC in the Open Cup.
  • Available to Klopas as substitutions today are goalkeeper Jeff Gal, defenders Rafael Czichos and Charlie Ostrem (on a short-term loan from Chicago Fire II), midfielders Xherdan Shaqiri, Maren Haile-Selassie, Gastón Giménez and Javier Casas Jr., and forwards Missael Rodríguez and Kei Kamara.
  • Goalkeeper Chris Brady (head), defenders Jonathan Dean (left upper leg), Miguel Navarro (rest), and Carlos Terán (right knee), midfielders Chris Mueller (hip), and Sergio Oregel Jr. (right lower leg) and Mauricio Pineda (concussion protocol) are unavailable for selection tonight.
