As revealed by Major League Soccer on Tuesday, Chicago Fire midfielder Djordje Mihailović came in 15th on the league's annual "22 under 22" rankings, a countdown of the top 22 players in MLS under the age of 22.

Mihailović, 21, earned inclusion in the annual showcase of the league's top young players after a 2019 campaign in which he finished with single-season career highs in appearances (27), starts (16), minutes (1448), and goals scored (3) while adding a pair of assists.

Mihailović additionally earned his first five caps for the senior U.S. Men's National Team in 2019, which included a goal in his debut -- a 3-0 friendly win over Panama in January -- and two appearances in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. The third-year midfielder finished ninth in a fan vote coinciding with the announcement of the league's official rankings.

This year's official rankings were determined by a panel of 18 individuals comprising of six anonymous technical staffers, two current MLS players, seven members of the MLS Digital team, and three members of the MLS Player Department.

All MLS players under the age of 22 (21 or younger) before Oct. 6, 2019 were eligible for consideration.

The panel ranked the eligible players based on the following criteria: technical ability, tactical IQ, physical attributes and future potential.
