Chicago Fire midfielder Djordje Mihailović and the Under-23 U.S. Men's National Team were 2-0 victors over their U-23 counterparts from Japan in a friendly match on Monday night.

The Fire Homegrown product started and captained the side as goals from Minnesota United's Mason Toye (44') and Real Salt Lake's Brooks Lennon (63') helped propel the U.S. to a win at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

Mihailović put in a 61-minute shift before being replaced by FC Dallas midfielder Brandon Servania. The match served as part of the squad's ongoing preparation for the 2020 Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Championship, set to be held from March 20 – April 1, 2020 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The 20-year-old will now return to Chicago as the Fire prepare for a return to MLS regular season action when FC Dallas visits SeatGeek Stadium for a nationally-televised contest on Saturday afternoon (2:30 p.m. CT, Univision).
