CHICAGO (May 12, 2025) – Chicago Fire FC midfielder Rominigue Kouamé was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday bench for Matchday 12 following Chicago’s 2-1 victory against Atlanta United FC on Saturday.
Kouamé earned his first Team of the Matchday honorable mention after scoring his first game-winning goal of the season in the 86th minute against Atlanta. Kouamé entered the match in the 81st minute along with Maren Haile-Selassie and Omari Glasgow. The three came together in the 86th minute, when Haile-Selassie played a through ball to Glasgow in the box. The Guyanese winger played it to the top of the six-yard box, where a late-arriving Kouamé toed the ball in for his second goal of the season. The Fire held on to the ball through much of stoppage, killing the clock on the way to their first home win of the regular season.
