Chicago Fire FC to Kick Off 2020 MLS Season on March 1 against Reigning MLS Cup Champions Seattle Sounders FC

CHICAGO(Dec. 5, 2019) – Major League Soccer today announced the home openers for each team for its 25th season. On opening weekend, Chicago Fire FC will travel to face the 2019 MLS Cup champions Seattle Sounders FC in their home opener at CenturyLink Field on Sunday, March 1. The match against Seattle is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. CT

One week later, the Fire will travel to face the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, March 7. The Revolution’s 2020 home opener against the Fire is scheduled to kickoff at 12:30 p.m. CT.


On Saturday, March 21, the Fire will return to Soldier Field for its 2020 home opener, hosting Atlanta United FC at the historic venue at 2:30 p.m. CT. Fans can secure a seat for the Club’s 2020 MLS home opener, or any home game of the regular season, through a variety of ticket packages. More information is available here.

During the 2020 MLS regular season, each club will play 34 games, including 17 home games and 17 away games. Teams will face each of their conference opponents twice during the season, one game at home and one game away, for a total of 24 matches. The additional 10 regular season matches will be played against opponents from the other conference. Those inter-conference opponents will be revealed with the full 2020 schedule in the coming weeks.
