CHICAGO (Sept. 18, 2026) – Chicago Fire FC forward Robert Lewandowski has been called to the Poland Men’s National team for upcoming UEFA Nations League matches in September and October.
Poland will open play in UEFA Nations League B, Group B4 against Bosnia and Herzegovina at 1:45 p.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 25, at PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw, Poland. The team will then travel to face Sweden at 1:45 p.m. CT on Monday, Sept. 28 at Strawberry Arena in Solna, Sweden. Matchday 3 of the European competition continues against Romania at 1:45 p.m. CT on Friday, Oct. 2, once again at PGE Narodowy Stadium. The FIFA international window closes with the return trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, at Stadion Bilino Polje in Zenica.
Lewandowski joined Chicago in July 2026 and has scored seven goals and registered two assists in the 14 matches he has played across all competitions. Internationally, he has earned 167 caps for Poland since 2008, scoring a record 89 goals, appearing in two FIFA World Cups and four UEFA European Championships, and serving as national team captain since 2013.
The prolific striker arrived in Major League Soccer (MLS) with one of the most decorated careers in the sport, having tallied more than 700 goals for his national team and top European clubs, most recently with FC Barcelona, while leading the German and Spanish leagues in scoring for eight years.
Lewandowski has won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup with Bayern Munich, along with 10 Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokal trophies and six DFL-Super Cups in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern. In Spain with FC Barcelona, he added three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Supercopas. Individually, he has claimed the Best FIFA Men’s Player award twice (2020, 2021), been named Polish Footballer of the Year a record 13 times and earned a place on the IFFHS World Team of the Decade (2011–2020), while finishing as the top scorer in Germany seven times and in Spain once.
Chicago embarks on a two-game road stretch in the South, first traveling to face Nashville SC on Saturday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. CT at GEODIS Park. The match will be broadcast globally on Apple TV, and transmitted locally on wlsam.com in English and TUDN Chicago 106.7-HD2 and Uforia by TREBEL app in Spanish. The Fire will then head to North Carolina to face Charlotte FC at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Bank of America Stadium.
