CHICAGO(Nov. 20, 2019) – The Chicago Fire Academy U-16 team returned from a weekend trip to Guadalajara, Mexico, where the squad played against academy teams from Atlas, Chivas and Leones Negros. The trip was part of a wider global education initiative for Academy players and coaching staff.
On Friday, Nov. 15, the trip kicked off with a 3-1 win against Atlas, with Fire Academy goals from Wyatt Borso, Justin Reynolds and Max Ibarra. The team fell 1-0 to Leones Negros from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara on the following day, before closing out the trip with a 7-0 win against Chivas on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Borso came out strong with a hat trick with Max Ibarra adding a brace, rounded out by one goal a piece from Allan Rodríguez and Demian Martínez.
