Chicago Fire FC captain Francisco Calvo got the start for his native Costa Rica in Los Ticos'  0-0 friendly draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday.

In Costa Rica's first of two warmups for June's Concacaf Nations League final four, Calvo put in a 90-minute shift in central defense and helped keep a clean sheet at Bilino Polje Stadium in Sarajevo.

The appearance was Calvo's first of 2021 for Costa Rica, having last represented his country in their final two matches of 2020 -- a 1-1 tie against Qatar on Nov. 13 and a 2-1 loss to Euskadi (Basque Country) on Nov. 16. He's now earned 53 caps for Los Ticos dating back to 2011.

Up next, Costa Rica will travel to Austria to face Mexico on Tuesday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m. CT at the Wiener Neustadt Stadium in Vienna.

Calvo will then return to the U.S. on Wednesday, March 31 and will adhere to a league-mandated five-day quarantine.
