Saturday, March 5 vs. Orlando City SC - 5 p.m. CT

With a new coach, new crest, and new players, the Chicago Fire will walk through the tunnel at Soldier Field for the first time in 2022 when Orlando City SC comes to town for the Home Opener. The Fire will look to extend their home unbeaten run against Orlando that dates back to 2016 (3-0-2, +10 GD) and put on another show in front of the home fans.

As weeks of preseason hype and preparation culminate along the lakefront, you won’t want to miss your first opportunity to see the new-look Fire live and in-person on March 5!

Saturday, April 16 vs. LA Galaxy - 7 p.m. CT

As the weather begins to turn in Chicago, mid-April will see new head coach Ezra Hendrickson take charge against the LA Galaxy for the first time, a club with whom he spent seven seasons as a player and won the 2002 MLS Cup. He’ll also be squaring off against former Galaxy teammate and current LA head coach Greg Vanney on the opposing sideline when this interconference contest kicks off in prime time on April 16.

This will also mark Chicharito's first visit to Chicago as an LA Galaxy player. Of course, Javier Hernandez has previously taken the field with the Mexican National Team at Soldier Field. Chicharito is El Tri's all-time leading goal scorer, two places ahead of Fire great Cuauhtémoc Blanco.

Saturday, July 9 vs. Columbus Crew - 7 p.m. CT

Eastern Conference rivals Columbus Crew are set for a July visit to Soldier Field on what will be Fireworks Night along the Lakefront. Join us as we celebrate Independence Day and light up the skyline following the match with a Chicago summertime fireworks experience you simply cannot miss.

This fixture will also see Hendrickson face the team he helped coach a season ago, led by star Designated Player Lucas Zelarayán.

Saturday, July 16 vs. Seattle Sounders FC - 7 p.m. CT

An increased number of Western Conference teams dotting the Fire’s calendar in 2022 means the Fire will host Seattle Sounders FC in Chicago for the first time since 2019, and for the first time ever at Soldier Field. This fixture has been a dramatic one when held in Chicago in recent years, having included a stoppage-time Fire winner in 2015, a sold out 4-1 win in 2017, and six combined goals when these two teams last met in the Windy City in 2019.

Sunday, Aug. 21 vs. New York City FC - 5 p.m. CT

The reigning MLS Cup champions come to town in late August, when the Fire will look to pull forward their run of solid 2021 home form against head coach Ronny Deila’s men. Last season, the Fire won and drew in their two home contests against NYCFC, with both matches resulting in clean sheets for first-year starting goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina.

In 270 total minutes home and away vs. NYCFC, Gaga never conceded an open-play goal.

Sunday, Oct. 9 vs. New England Revolution - Time TBD

As the chase for the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs comes to a boil, the Fire will welcome the New England Revolution to Chicago for a showdown on Major League Soccer’s Decision Day. Securing full points at home is always crucial to the team’s postseason prospects, so show up and bring your full-throated support to Soldier Field.

October 9 also comes one day after the Fire's anniversary of their founding in 1997, and this match will serve as the culmination of the Club's 25th season celebration.
