BRIDGEVIEW, Ill (July 23, 2018) – The Chicago Fire will travel to take on the Philadelphia Union in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinal on Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. CT at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa.
The draw for the semifinal and final rounds was held by U.S. Soccer on Monday afternoon. The Men in Red won the top priority to host the final should it advance.The draw for hosting priority finished as follows:
- Chicago Fire
- Houston Dynamo
- LAFC
- Philadelphia Union
The Fire’s 13 semifinal appearances are the most all-time in tournament history.
The Fire have reached the final six times and have previously hoisted the coveted Dewar Trophy four times, in 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2006.
