July 12 | France vs. Croatia: Who will take home the trophy?

Croatia vs. England

The 2018 FIFA World Cup final is set. France will take on Croatia this Sunday to determine who will bring home the title of world champion. Interestingly, the only World Cup to crown France as champion in 1998 also saw Croatia achieving their best-ever World Cup result when they secured third place.

The Croatian side, which had played 120 minutes for its first two knockout round stages, once again played to extra time against semifinals opponent England on Wednesday.

This time round, Croatia stopped short of reaching the penalty shootout when Mario Mandžukić scored a goal in the 109th minute. England had taken the lead early in the 5th minute through a stunning free kick, but were unable to find the net the rest of the game.

Croatia are setting themselves up as comeback kings as all of their knockout games victories this year started when they were 1-0 down.

England’s elimination upset many fans across the world, including Fire’s Mo Adams, who had believed “It’s Coming Home.”

After Croatia leveled the score in the second half, midfielder and defender Diego Campos chimed in to the World Cup conversation, which sparked a response from Englishman Adams.

Ultimately, when the game ended in Croatia's favor, Adams tweeted out an encouraging message for his home team. England will take on Belgium in the third-place match on June 14, Saturday (9 AM CT).

Meanwhile, with France and Croatia taking center stage, viewers are starting to share their takes on who will bring home the trophy. Fire midfielder and avid FIFA 18 fan Djordje Mihailovic made his pick on Instagram Stories.
