Two Chicago Fire Academy Players Named to U.S. Under-14 Boys’ National Team Roster

CHICAGO (Nov. 13, 2017) – Two Chicago Fire Academy players have been named to the 48-player roster for the U.S. Under-14 Boys’ National Team’s final camp of 2017, which will run through Nov. 18 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
Fire midfielders Javier Casas from Addison, Ill. and Brian Gutierrez from Burbank, Ill. and the U-14s (birth year 2003) will play a total of five games, including one intra-squad match. The U-14s will face off against U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs San Diego Surf (a mix of birth year 2001-2003) and Albion SC U-17 (birth year 2001), and two matches against Club Tijuana, who will field a combination of U-16’s (birth year 2002) and U-15’s (birth year 2003).
The camp marks the fifth and final U-14 Boys’ National Team programming of 2017 and the last of the 2016-2017 cycle, which began in November 2016
.
Beginning in 2018, the 2003 birth year players will move up to the U-16 Boy’s National Team for the 2018-2019 player cycle.
