BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Jan. 4, 2023) - Chicago Fire FC today announced that three members of the Chicago Fire Academy were called into domestic training camps for the U.S. U-15 and U-16 Men’s Youth National Teams. Goalkeeper Patrick Los has been called into the U-16 USMYNT, while defenders Christopher Cupps and Kruz Held were called into U-15 camp. All three players will be reporting to a domestic camp that will run concurrently in Tampa, Fla. from January 3-15, 2023.

Los, a member of the Fire Academy since 2019 will be making his first appearance for a U.S. Men’s Youth National Team. A fixture in goal for the U-17 Fire Academy, Los recently led the team to an undefeated weekend in MLS NEXT Fest play at the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, Calif. This will be his first time playing under head coach Michael Nsien, who was hired as head coach of the U-16 USMYNT on Nov. 15, 2022.

Cupps, 15, will be making his second appearance in the red, white, and blue this month. The young defender was recently called into the U.S. U-15 camp that took place in Kansas City, Kan. from Oct. 23-30, 2022. This marks the second time Cupps will play under head coach Tom Heinemann, who has been at the helm of the U-15 squad since February 2022.

Finally, Held will be making his first appearance with a U.S. Men’s Youth National Team at the U-15 domestic camp in January. The steady defender has been one of the many bright spots for the U-15 Academy that currently sits at the top of the Mid-America Division in MLS NEXT play. This will also serve as his first time playing under Heinemann.
