Three Chicago Fire Players Called Up For International Duty

CHICAGO (Sept. 29, 2015) – The Chicago Fire announced today that David Accam (Ghana), Daneil Cyrus (Trinidad and Tobago) and Joevin Jones (Trinidad and Tobago) have been called up by their respective national teams for international duty.
Accam will join Avram Grant’s side in Washington, D.C. for two international friendlies against Peru on Oct. 9 and Canada on Oct. 13. Accam most recently joined The Black Stars for their 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda on Sept. 5. A native of Accra, Accam has one goal in four appearances for his country.
Cyrus and Jones have been called up by Trinidad and Tobago head coach Stephen Hart for international friendlies against Panama in Panama City on Oct. 8 and against Nicaragua at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad on Oct. 13.
This summer, Jones and Cyrus helped Trinidad & Tobago top Group C with a 2-0-1 record before falling in penalties to Panama in the quarterfinal round of the Gold Cup. Jones made his senior debut for the Soca Warriors on Sept. 7, 2010 against Panama. The Carenage, Trinidad native has earned 43 caps and scored two goals. A Trinidad and Tobago youth international, Cyrus represented the Soca Warriors in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea and the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt. The Plymouth, Trinidad and Tobago native made his senior debut against Chile in May 2010 and has since earned 43 caps.
