Slonina, Rodriguez, and Under-15 U.S. Boy's National Team wraps group play in 2019 Torneo Delle Nazioni

Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, Chicago Fire Academy midfielder Allan Rodriguez and the U.S. Under-15 Boys National Team finished play in Group C of the 2019 Torneo Delle Nazioni tournament with a 3-0 defeat to Mexico.


After beginning group play with a 3-0 win over India, the U-15 boys dropped a 1-0 result to Slovenia before wrapping group against Mexico on Tuesday.


Slonina got the start in net against both India and Mexico, while Allan Rodriguez appeared in all three matches and started against Slovenia and Mexico.


With the result, the USA finishes third in Group C at the tournament. It will now enter a ninth-12th place consolation bracket against the tournament’s three other third-placed teams: England, Turkey and Norway. The U-15s will return to action on Thursday, May 2 against Norway at 10 a.m. ET and play England or Turkey on Saturday in its final game at the competition.
