FUEGO: Who
do you think will win the World Cup? Who will you cheer for since Guatemala
isn't in the tournament?
Marco
Pappa:
I think Argentina will win the World Cup because they have a lot of stars in
the team, including the best player in the World in Lionel Messi. I root
for Argentina and Italy because they are the teams that I followed the most,
and also because I grew up watching both teams.
EF:
Other
than soccer, what sport would you have liked to have participated in?
MP: I like
tennis and karate a lot, so If I wasn’t a soccer player... I would love to be a
karate fighter since my dad use to be a professional karate fighter and he was
Pan-American champion.
EF:
How
do you like Chicago? What do you do when you're not training or playing in Fire
matches?
MP:
I
like Chicago a lot because it is a very clean, beautiful, and relaxing city. In
the summer, I like to go to the beach a lot with my friends and family members.
I also enjoy walking around downtown.
EF:
What
kind of music do you listen to to prepare for a Fire game?
MP: I like all
sorts of music. They can be in English or Spanish, you name it. I like Hip Hop,
Reggaeton, Salsa, Cumbia, Rock, everything!
EF: Who had an
impact on your life growing up?
MP:
I
had several examples while I grew up, which I am really thankful for. I had my
parents, brothers, friends, and coaches who all made an impact in my life in a
certain way.
EF: What player do
you model yourself after? Why?
MP: I really enjoy
watching Lionel Messi’s style of playing. I think he is a very effective
player, very talented, fast, and those are some of the things that I would like
to assimilate.
