The latest chapter in the Midwest rivalry between Chicago and St. Louis will be under way tonight at SeatGeek Stadium when Chicago Fire FC and St. Louis CITY SC meet for the only the third time in regular season play. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and will be transmitted locally on WLS 890 AM (English) and Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App (Spanish). A replay of the match will be available on Marquee Sports Network on Tuesday, August 19 at 4 p.m. CT.

Currently on a four-game unbeaten streak, Chicago will look to defeat St. Louis for the third time across all competitions before heading to the East Coast for a two-game road trip. Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named the following Starting XI to get another positive result against the Western Conference side.

  • No changes have been made to the Starting XI for the second consecutive match, including last week’s 2-2 draw against LAFC at SeatGeek Stadium.
  • Defender Carlos Terán will start his seventh match of the year just one week after scoring his first goal of the year against LAFC. The Colombian center back will pair up with Englishman Jack Elliott, who dons the captain’s armband, anchoring the Fire defense.
  • Joining Terán and Elliott in the backline are right back Leonardo Barroso and left back Andrew Gutman, the latter of whom starts his 26th match of the season. They will be tasked with helping Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady earn his fourth clean sheet of 2025 in the 84th match of his career.
  • Midfielder Dje D’Avilla will start his third consecutive match in his 13th appearance of the year. The defensive-minded midfielder will share the center of the pitch with the Homegrown duo of Sergio Oregel Jr. and Brian Gutiérrez once again, the latter of whom got an assist on winger Jonathan Bamba’s goal last week against LAFC.
  • Bamba will start on the left wing opposite winger Philip Zinckernagel, whose two assists against LAFC earned him a place on the MLS Team of Matchday 28. The Danish winger is two assists short of tying the single-season Fire record of 14 assists, and could do so in tandem with the Fire’s leading goal scorer, forward Hugo Cuypers, tonight.
  • Unavailable for selection tonight are midfielders Rominigue Kouamé (lower body) and David Poreba (lower body). Midfielder Chris Mueller has been placed on the Season Ending Injury list and will be out the remainder of the season.
  • Available off the bench are goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Jonathan Dean, Omar González, and Sam Rogers; midfielder Maren Haile-Selassie, Mauricio Pineda, Kellyn Acosta, and Sam Williams; and forward Tom Barlow.
