Lineup Notes | Chicago Fire FC vs Nashville SC

Chicago Fire FC looks to regain momentum at home after earning six out of nine possible points in a three-game road trip that stretched across the country from Portland, Oregon, to Kansas City, to Orlando, Florida.

The Fire is celebrating Heroes Night, presented by Wintrust, at Soldier Field as a nod to the city’s first responders. Additionally, after the team’s match against Nashville, fans from both clubs will have an opportunity to watch the Fire and Nashville’s Special Olympics Unified teams face off on the main pitch at Soldier Field, followed by a post-game firework show.

Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. CT live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. The match will be transmitted live locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM, and in English on 890 WLS-AM. The English stream will also be preceded by a 30-minute pre-match show and followed by a 30-minute post-match show after the conclusion of the action.

  • Chicago Fire FC Head Coach Frank Klopas has made four changes to the starting XI that took the field against Orlando City last Saturday.
  • Mauricio Pineda returns to the backline in place of Carlos Terán, alongside captain Rafael Czichos. Miguel Navarro returns to the backline, and defender Jonathan Dean steps in for Arnaud Souquet who is unavailable due to receiving two yellow cards in the previous match.
  • Fabian Herbers makes his fourth consecutive start, and 14th start in 2023, lining up in the midfield next to Gastón Giménez.
  • Maren Haile-Selassie, Xherdan Shaqiri and Brian Gutiérrez start alongside each other for the second consecutive match.
  • Greek forward Georgios Koutsias will start his fifth MLS regular season match in a Fire shirt, leading the attack from the outset.
  • Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady backstops the team for the 18th time this season.
  • Available off the bench for head coach Frank Klopas are goalkeeper Jeffrey Gal, defenders Alonso Aceves, Kendall Burks, Justin Reynolds, Carlos Terán, midfielder Jairo Torres and forwards Kei Kamara, Kacper PrzybyÅ‚ko and Missael Rodríguez.
  • Defenders Wyatt Omsberg (left lower leg) and Arnaud Souquet (suspension), midfielders Javier Casas Jr. (right upper arm), Chris Mueller (right upper leg) and Federico Navarro (right lower leg) and forward Victor Bezerra (right lower leg) will not be available for tonight’s match.
