CHICAGO (April 19, 2025) – Chicago Fire FC wraps up a two-game homestand Saturday night against FC Cincinnati at Soldier Field.
The Fire will look to continue a three-match unbeaten streak at home against the Orange and Blue and add to their best start in Club history since 2012. The match will be broadcast across the globe on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and transmitted locally in English on WLS 890 AM and wlsam.com and in Spanish on Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App.
Chicago Fire FC Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named the following Starting XI to earn the Club’s 90th regular season victory at Soldier Field:
- No changes have been made to the Starting XI that earned the Fire’s first clean sheet of the season against Eastern Conference contender Inter Miami CF.
- One week after recording his first clean sheet of the season, Chris Brady returns to man the goal for the ninth time this year. The Homegrown native recorded three saves in the shutout, including a pair of clear-cut chances against Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi, and will look for the 21st MLS win of his career.
- After filling in for Leonardo Barroso (Lower Body) last week against Miami, Omari Glasgow makes his second start in a row at right back. The Guyanese winger will appear in his eighth match this season and 10th all-time in Major League Soccer.
- Defenders Jack Elliott and Carlos Terán will line up next to each other at center back from the start for the third time this season. Elliott will once again wear the captain’s armband for Chicago, leading a defense manned by Barroso, Terán and Andrew Gutman, who starts for the ninth time in as many matches in 2025.
- The all-Homegrown midfield of Brian Gutiérrez, Sergio Oregel, Jr., and Mauricio Pineda remains in the Starting XI for the third time this season. Pineda will make a Homegrown-record 106th start for Chicago, trailed by Gutiérrez’s 85 regular season starts. Oregel, Jr. continues his perfect streak of starts in 2025 with nine this year.
- For the eighth time this campaign, Jonathan Bamba, Hugo Cuypers and Philip Zinckernagel will start next to each other in the front line. Bamba and Cuypers have started in all nine matches for Chicago this season, while Zinckernagel makes his eighth start of the year.
- Beside Barroso, defender Chase Gasper (Lower Body), and midfielders Rominigue Kouamé (Lower Body), David Poreba (Lower Body) and Chris Mueller (Not Due to Injury) will not be available for selection tonight.
- Available off the bench are goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Sam Rogers, Jonathan Dean, Omar González and Justin Reynolds; midfielders Maren Haile-Selassie, Kellyn Acosta and Dje D’Avilla; and forward Tom Barlow will be available off the bench for tonight’s match.
