Chicago hosts Charlotte FC on Fan Appreciation Night at Soldier Field in the second of a two-game homestand before heading into the October international break. Chicago is coming off a resounding 4-1 win against Inter Miami CF, during which Swiss midfielders Xherdan Shaqiri and Maren Haile-Selassie each scored a brace to keep the three points at home and propel the Fire into a playoff position.

Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. CT and the match will be broadcast on Apple TV, and transmitted locally in English on 890 WLS-AM and in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM.

  • Head Coach Frank Klopas made no changes to the lineup that defeated Inter Miami CF at Soldier Field on Wednesday night. With a third consecutive victory tonight, Klopas would become the third head coach in Club history to win 50 regular season matches with the Fire, joining Bob Bradley (1998-2002) and Dave Sarachan (2003-2007).
  • Goalkeeper Chris Brady makes his 28th start of the 2023 MLS regular season and his 30th start overall in 2023. With eight shutouts so far in the 2023 MLS regular season, the young goalkeeper is tied with current goalkeeping coach Zach Thornton (1998, 2003) and Matt Lampson (2017) for the sixth-most clean sheets in a single season in Club history.
  • Captain Rafael Czichos returns to the backline for as second-straight match following an injury incurred against the Columbus Crew on Sept. 20 at Lower.com Field. Czichos is joined once again by Wyatt Omsberg in the middle, flanked by Jonathan Dean and Miguel Navarro.
  • Ousmane Doumbia and Gastón Giménez line up together in the midfield for the sixth-straight match, and the seventh time overall. With his assist on Maren Haile-Selassie’s goal against Miami, Doumbia registered two assists in three regular season matches.
  • Also in the midfield are Fabian Herbers, and Xherdan Shaqiri and Brian Gutiérrez.
  • Shaqiri scored twice against Miami, tying him with striker Kei Kamara for second-leading goal scorer on the team with five goals.
  • Greek forward Georgios Koutsias will makes his 12th start of the season.
  • Available off the bench for Klopas are goalkeeper Spencer Richey, defenders Alonso Aceves, Kendall Burks, Carlos Terán, and Arnaud Souquet, midfielders Javier Casas Jr. and Maren Haile-Selassie, and forwards Missael Rodríguez and Kacper PrzybyÅ‚ko.
  • Defender/midfielder Mauricio Pineda (right lower leg), midfielders Chris Mueller (right upper leg), Federico Navarro (left upper leg) and Jairo Torres (right upper leg), and forwards Kei Kamara (upper body) and Victor Bezerra (right lower leg) will not be available for tonight’s match.
