NEW YORK (May 25, 2025) – Chicago Fire FC will reach the midpoint of a five-game road trip with a visit to Yankee Stadium to face New York City FC. Kickoff in the Bronx is set for 2:00 p.m. CT; the match will be broadcast across the globe on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and transmitted locally in English on wlsam.com and in Spanish on Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App.

Chicago Fire FC Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named the following Starting XI tasked with getting another three points in the Northeast:

  • No changes have been made to the Starting XI that kicked off the road trip with a 4-1 win at Charlotte FC on Saturday, May 20.
  • Homegrown midfielder Mauricio Pineda will look to reach the 10,000-minute mark in Major League Soccer in his 111th start for Chicago. The midfielder needs 39 minutes in the match to become the 15th player in Club history to reach the milestone number, and inch closer to passing Justin Mapp for 14th in minutes played for the Fire with 11,835.
  • Following his second brace of the year in Charlotte, Brian Gutiérrez joins Pineda and fellow Homegrown midfielder Sergio Oregerl, Jr. in the center of the pitch for the fourth consecutive MLS match and seventh time all-season. Gutiérrez’s performance in Charlotte earned him a place in the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 14.
  • Another Chicago Fire Academy graduate named to the Team of the Matchday, Andrew Gutman, also draws his 14th start of the season. The left back needs 88 minutes in the match to also reach the 10,000-minute mark in MLS play, albeit with five different teams in his seven-year career.
  • Lining up opposite Gutman at right back is Jonathan Dean, who makes his eighth start of 2025. He will start to the right of center backs Sam Rogers and Jack Elliott for the sixth time this season. Elliott will once again wear the captain’s armband today.
  • Backing the defense will be Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady, who will look for his third clean sheet across all competitions in his 77th regular season match for Chicago.
  • One week after scoring his second goal of the season in league play, Jonathan Bamba will make his 14th start of the year for Chicago. He will line up next to Hugo Cuypers and Philip Zinckernagel from the start, both of whom scored in Tuesday’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match at the New England Revolution.
  • Defenders Carlos Terán (Lower Body) and Chase Gasper (Lower Body); and midfielders David Poreba (Lower Body) and Chris Mueller (Not Due to Injury) are unavailable for selection today.
  • Available off the bench for Berhalter are goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Leonardo Barroso and Christopher Cupps; midfielders Rominigue Kouamé, Maren Haile-Selassie, Kellyn Acosta, Omari Glasgow, and Dje D’Avilla; and forward Tom Barlow.
