Lineup Notes | Chicago Fire FC at CF Montréal

Chicago heads north to Montréal for a second-straight game on the road, kicking off a series of three games in eight days. It will be the second encounter of the season for the Fire against the former Impact, having hosted the Canadian side on July 12 at Soldier Field and earning three points at home with a 3-0 victory.

In the previous encounter, midfielder Brian Gutiérrez scored his first goal of the season and forward Georgios Koutsias registered two assists. Also scoring in the match were winger Maren Haile-Selassie and Designated Player Xherdan Shaqiri.

  • Striker Kei Kamara will play in his 416th MLS career match, placing him in fourth place on the all-time appearance list. Kamara returns to his former Club, where he scored nine goals in 32 games (14 starts) last season. Kamara has also scored 13 goals in 19 MLS matches against CF MontrĂ©al, including playoffs.
  • Captain Rafael Czichos makes his 24th regular season start, and his 27th start overall, in 2023, alongside Arnaud Souquet, Mauricio Pineda and Alonso Aceves.
  • Souquet and Aceves start together for a second-straight match since returning to the starting lineup in Matchday 31 against D.C. United.
  • Ousmane Doumbia and GastĂ³n GimĂ©nez line up together in the midfield for the first time since Aug. 20 against Orlando City. Joining them in the middle of the park are Fabian Herbers, Brian GutiĂ©rrez and Maren Haile-Selassie. GutiĂ©rrez starts for the 24th time in the regular season, while Herbers and Haile-Selassie each start for the 19th time in 2023 MLS regular season play.
  • Also making his 24th start of the 2023 MLS regular season, and 26th start overall in 2023, is goalkeeper Chris Brady.
  • Available off the bench for Head Coach Frank Klopas are goalkeeper Spencer Richey, defenders Kendall Burks, Jonathan Dean, Miguel Navarro and Wyatt Omsberg, midfielders Jairo Torres and Xherdan Shaqiri, and forward Georgios Koutsias.
  • Defender Carlos TerĂ¡n (left upper leg), midfielders Federico Navarro (left upper leg), Chris Mueller (right upper leg) and Javier Casas Jr. (right lower leg), and forwards Victor Bezerra (right lower leg) and Kacper PrzybyÅ‚ko (left lower leg) will not be available for tonight’s match.
