New England Designated Player Adam Buksa and Fire midfielder Przemysław Frankowski were teammates on the Poland Under-21 national team from 2015-17, and were opponents on two occasions in the Polish Ekstraklasa. The pair last faced off in October of 2018, when Frankowski scored the first goal in a 2-1 win for his Jagiellonia Bialystok side over Buksa's Pogon Szczecin.
