Here's how you can contribute to Section 8 Chicago's "Fire For Food" 2018 food drive

section 8

Our friends at Section 8 Chicago are kicking off the 2018 Chicago Fire season on a charitable note, and you can be a part of it!

From right now through Oct. 29, S8C are looking to raise $10,000 towards a food drive they've dubbed "Fire For Food", which will benefit those in need across the greater Chicago community.

From their Fire For Food donation page, which you can check out and contribute to here:

"As part of this year's initiative to increase our charitable giving, you can help provide more fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy and proteins to our 812,000 neighbors in Cook County, including 1 in 6 children, who face food insecurity by contributing to the Section 8 Chicago food drive, Fire for Food.
Thanks to the Food Depository’s buying power where $1 buys 3 meals, you can make an immediate impact! Every dollar raised through this virtual food drive will be used to buy nutritious food for our community."

In addition, fans can stop by and speak with S8C representatives in person at a Fire For Food table on Chicago Fire matchdays. Come by their tailgate in the Toyota Park north lot prior to March 31's Fire-Red Stars doubleheader against Portlandand keep an eye out for location updates for future home matches!
