The United States Under-17 Men's National Team fell 2-1 to their counterparts from Mexico in the final of the 2019 Concacaf Championship on Thursday night.

Chicago Fire Academy goalkeeper Damian Las got the start in net, his fifth of the tournament, in a match that went to extra time to find a winner. The scoring started early as the USA's Griffin Yow got the game's first goal in the ninth minute, before Mexico's Efrain Alvarez leveled in the 17th. After regular time ended at 1-1, Mexico's Israel Luna found the winner with a back-post finish in the 108th minute.

With the result, Mexico retains its U-17 regional title. However, having qualified for a record 17th FIFA U-17 World Cup, the U.S. finished as runner-up at the tournament, going 6-1-0, while outscoring opponents 28-5 and keeping clean sheets in four of seven matches. The team next sets its sights on competing at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil later this year.
