What should I expect?

1 Hour, 1 Day per week for Training and two 25-minute games on Saturdays

Training

  • Participants show up 15 minutes early. Gear on ready to play on the hour
  • 15 minutes Warm Up/Agility Work (jogging and stretching). Introducing participants to agility movements
  • 15 minutes of Ball Manipulation/Passing and Receiving: Usually the focus for the day
  • 10 minutes of Games: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5
  • 20 minutes of Free Play (5v5)

Game 5v5 to Mini Goals.

  • Participants show up 15 minutes early. Gear on with light warm up. Ready to play on the hour.
  • Game 1: 25 minutes
  • 5-minute Break
  • Game 2: 25 minutes
  • 20 minutes of Free Play (5v5)

Who are the coaches?

Community coaches 17 years of age and older, all must be from that specific community. One Lead Coach that will oversee the day and 2 coaches that will work directly with the participants each week. All will go through a USSF Grassroots course and through the Chicago Fire FC course for coaching.

What does my child need for classes?

  • T-shirt (will be provided)
  • Shorts
  • Socks
  • Sports shoes (soccer cleats)
  • Shin guards
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Layers depending on weather (sweatpants, sweatshirt, jacket)

How many participants per group?

  • U7 – U8: 20 Boys and Girls
  • U9 – U10: 20 Boys and Girls
  • U11 – U12: 20 Boys and Girls

Can I drop my child off and leave?

Yes, but it would be great if you had the time to stay and watch to see what your child is doing to bring it home and continue the conversations.
