BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Aug. 23, 2018) – The Chicago Fire (6-15-6, 24 pts.) and Columbus Crew SC (11-8-7, 40 pts.) traded a pair of second half goals in a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening at Toyota Park.
Nemanja Nikolic opened scoring for the Men in Red in the 67th minute when he latched onto an errant Crew SC pass and tucked his right-footed shot inside the post for his team-leading 12th goal of the season.
Columbus’ Niko Hansen equalized for the visitors in the 87th minute,finishing a deflection to level the score at 1-1.
The Fire next travel to face reigning German Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich in a testimonial match for Bastian Schweinsteiger on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 1:30 p.m. CT at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. The match will be available to U.S. audiences via live stream on FloSports.
