CHICAGO (March 24, 2015) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Tuesday that the club has signed 2015 MLS SuperDraft pick Kingsley Bryce. Per MLS and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Kingsley is a versatile player and I’m pleased that we’re adding him to our roster,” said Fire Head Coach Frank Yallop. “Although he has an attacking background, he’s come in and impressed us these past few months with his ability to play a defensive role.”
Selected in the second round (28th overall) of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Bryce spent four years at Saint Louis University, where he scored 23 goals and added 12 assists in 79 matches. The Plano, Texas product was named Second-team All-Atlantic 10 Conference and A-10 All-Championship team in 2013. In his junior season, Bryce recorded a team-high four game-winning goals, tied for the most in the conference. A graduate of Jesuit Prep in Dallas, Texas, Bryce helped the Rangers to the Texas 5A state championship in his senior year and a perfect 25-0 record.
“I’m excited to sign with the Chicago Fire,” said Bryce. “I’ve enjoyed competing with the guys and fighting for a spot on the roster, and I’m looking forward to working hard and helping this team in whatever way possible.”
