Chicago Fire FC Unveils 2026 MLS Season Schedule With Tribute to Classic Chicago Film

Inspired by the 40th anniversary of an iconic Chicago film, “Mike Magee Skips Schedule Release” reveals next season’s schedule through a local soccer legend’s adventure featuring cameos and Easter eggs

CHICAGO (November 20, 2025) – Chicago Fire FC today released its 2026 MLS regular season schedule with a video titled “Mike Magee Skips Schedule Release,” a nostalgic celebration of the 40th anniversary of an iconic Chicago-based film.

Featuring Chicago soccer legend and 2013 MLS MVP Mike Magee, the new video takes fans on a modern-day journey around town, offering a fresh twist on a classic Chicago adventure. Easter eggs appear throughout the scenes, including fan-favorite spots, celebrity cameos, and team supporter appearances – all leading up to the reveal of The Fire’s 2026 schedule.

“With schedule releases becoming more buzz-worthy than ever, we wanted to unveil our 2026 season schedule in a way that feels uniquely Chicago,” said Dan Moriarty, Chief Marketing Officer at Chicago Fire FC. “This video is a celebration of our club, our city, our fans, and the incredible momentum we’ve built heading into next season.”

Filmed on location at several recognizable sites including The Art Institute of Chicago and Wrigley Field, “Mike Magee Skips Schedule Release” features surprise cameos from local personalities including celebrity chef and Food Network co-host Jeff Mauro; Chicago Fire Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter; current Chicago Fire players Omar Gonzalez, Sam Rogers, Andrew Gutman, and Jonathan Dean; Chicago Fire legends Magee and former midfielder Drew Conner; former Chicago Stars legend Yuki Nagasato; and soccer journalists Tim Hotze (MenInRed97 Media) and Joe Chatz.

The video also features local professional mascots including Chicago Fire’s own Sparky, Chicago Stars FC’s Supernova, The Chicago Sky’s Skye the Lioness, and Jewel-Osco’s JoJo; and scenes filmed at popular Chicago Fire venues including the club’s newly opened Endeavor Health Performance Center, 2nd Star Tavern at the Endeavor Health Fire Pitch, and The 78 – site of the club’s recently announced privately-funded, soccer-specific stadium.
