CHICAGO (Sept. 3, 2026) – Chicago Fire FC today announced that the Club has loaned Homegrown midfielder Dylan Borso to Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton F.C. through the end of 2026. Chicago retains the right to recall Borso at any point, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines. Per Club policy, additional terms of the deal were not disclosed. The agreement was completed prior to the close of the Secondary Transfer Window.
“We have seen Dylan grow immensely during this past season, deservedly breaking through to the first team, and look forward to seeing him continue to be challenged in different ways and in a new environment,” said Chicago Fire FC Sporting Director Gregg Broughton. “He has the opportunity to make an impact at Greenock Morton and the experience he gains will benefit the Fire when he returns.”
Borso, 20, became the 27th Homegrown Player in Club history when he signed a first-team contract on Feb. 18, 2025. Borso made his MLS debut in the 0-0 draw against the Columbus Crew on March 7 at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field, coming on in the 28th minute for an injured Leo Barroso and helping to earn the Club’s second clean sheet of the season.
A native of Chicago, Borso was a member of Chicago Fire Youth Soccer before joining the Chicago Fire Academy in 2017 and contributing to Academy squads from the U-13 through the U-19 levels. He also featured prominently at the MLS NEXT Pro level and attended Wake Forrest University before returning to sign with this hometown club.
At the international level, Borso represented the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team in international friendlies against the Georgia U-20 Men’s National Team and the Macedonia U-20 Men’s National Team in June of this year.
