CHICAGO (Sept. 3, 2022) –  Chicago Fire FC II fell 3-1 to Eastern Conference-champion Columbus Crew 2 at Lower.com Field on Saturday evening.

Chicago Fire II forward Omari Glasgow scored the Fire’s lone goal in the 80th minute, slipping through traffic in the Columbus box and hitting a shot that ricocheted off the post and past goalkeeper Patrick Schulte into the goal.

Columbus opened the scoring in the 26th minute when midfielder Isaiah Parente wove through the Fire defense before sending a low, driven ball into the right corner under a diving Chris Brady. The second goal for Crew 2 came via a penalty kick. Columbus found themselves one-on-one against Brady, who came out for the challenge. The referee pointed to the spot and Jacen Russell-Rowe sent his shot just inside the lower left corner.
