Chicago Fire FC Forward Elliot Collier Receives U.S. Green Card

CHICAGO (March 1, 2020) – Chicago Fire FC announced today that forward Elliot Collier has received his U.S. Green Card, granting him permanent resident status in the United States. With permanent resident status, Collier, 25, will no longer occupy an international slot on the Fire’s roster.


A native of Hamilton, New Zealand, Collier is currently in his third season with the Fire after being re-signed by the Club on Feb. 6, 2020. In his first two seasons with Chicago, Collier made 17 appearances (10 starts) across all competitions, scoring two goals.


The Fire currently have eight international players under contract for the 2020 season: Ignacio Aliseda, Robert Berić, Przemysław Frankowski, Gastón Giménez, Álvaro Medrán, Miguel Navarro, Boris Sekulić and Luka Stojanović.


The Fire will kick off the 2020 MLS season on the road versus reigning MLS Cup champion Seattle Sounders FC today at 2:00 p.m. CT (ESPN). Chicago will officially make its homecoming to Soldier Field on Saturday, March 21 when the team hosts Atlanta United FC in its 2020 home opener at 2:30 p.m. CT (Univision).
