Chicago Fire FC Announces its 2020 Preseason Schedule

CHICAGO (Jan. 6, 2020) – Chicago Fire FC today announced its preseason schedule for the 2020 MLS campaign. In advance of the Club’s 23rd MLS season, first team players are scheduled to report to the Fire on Saturday, Jan. 18.


During the first week of preseason, the team will train at the CIBC Fire Pitch in Chicago from January 20-24. On Sunday, Jan. 26, the Fire will travel to Tampa, Fla., for a 12-day training camp, which will include two preseason matches.


While training in Florida, Chicago is scheduled to face the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex in Clearwater, Fla. On Thursday, Feb. 6, the Fire will face a second MLS team at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay. The opponent for that match will be announced at a later date.


The second phase of Chicago’s preseason training camp will take place in Los Angeles, where the Fire will play four preseason matches. Chicago will face USL Championship side Orange County SC (Feb. 12), Colorado Rapids (Feb. 15), Toronto FC (Feb. 19) and LA Galaxy (Feb. 22) during its training camp in California.


The Fire’s matches against Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy will be held at Dignity Health Sports Park as part of a doubleheader and will be open to the public. Tickets for each day include access to both games at DHSP and are currently on sale at www.lagalaxy.com/tickets.

January 18-19 – Medical testing

February 1 – Chicago Fire FC vs. Philadelphia Union at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex (Time TBD)


February 6 – Chicago Fire FC vs. TBA MLS Opponent at Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay (Time TBD)


February 7 – Travel to Chicago


February 10 – Travel to Los Angeles


February 12 – Chicago Fire FC vs. Orange County SC at Orange County Great Park (Time TBD)


February 15 – Chicago Fire FC vs. Colorado Rapids at Dignity Health Sports Park (2:00 p.m. CT)


February 19 – Chicago Fire FC vs. Toronto FC at University of California-Irvine (Time TBD)


February 22 – Chicago Fire FC vs. LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park (5:00 p.m. CT)


February 23 – Return to Chicago


Chicago will kick off its 2020 MLS season on the road on Sunday, March 1 against defending MLS Cup Champions Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field at 2:00 p.m. CT (ESPN). The Fire will officially make its return to Soldier Field on Saturday, March 21 when the team hosts Atlanta United FC in its 2020 home opener at 2:30 p.m. CT (Univision).


Fans can secure a seat for the Fire’s 2020 MLS home opener, or any home game of the regular season, through a variety of ticket packages. Beginning as low as $15 per game, season ticket packages for the 2020 campaign are available for purchase online or by calling 888-MLS-FIRE to speak with a season ticket sales representative. Additionally, season tickets for children ages 12-and-under are also currently available for as low as $12.50 per game.
