CHICAGO (Dec. 20, 2022) – Chicago Fire FC and Major League Soccer today announced the Club’s 34-game schedule for the 2023 MLS regular season.

Chicago will open the 2023 campaign with a bye during week one, prior to kicking off its 26th MLS season the following weekend against New York City FC on Saturday, March 4 at Soldier Field. Scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT, the match against NYCFC will mark the earliest home opener in Chicago Fire history, occurring one day prior to the Club’s 2022 opener.

Tickets to attend the Fire’s 2023 home debut are now available for purchase by clicking here. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a custom Fire flag, presented by Wintrust. Additionally, Season Ticket Members can access their Account Manager here for additional discounts and add-ons, and fans who wish to purchase a Season Ticket Membership can do so here.

The Club’s 2023 home schedule is highlighted by several notable matchups, including its highly anticipated fixture against regional rival and 2023 expansion team, St. Louis CITY SC, on Saturday, May 13. The contest against the Western Conference side will be held during Heineken Rivalry Week and will mark the only regular season meeting between the two teams in 2023.

Overall, the Fire’s 2023 regular season home schedule features a total 17 matches, including 14 weekend dates with 13 matches on Saturdays and one Sunday fixture. The month of April will see the highest number of Fire matches at home, with the Club set to host D.C. United (April 1), Minnesota United FC (April 8), reigning Eastern Conference champions Philadelphia Union (April 15), and the New York Red Bulls (April 29).

The Club’s longest homestand of the season will take place during a four-game stretch from Saturday, July 8 to Sunday, August 20. During that period, the Fire will host the following Eastern Conference foes along the lakefront: Nashville SC (July 8), CF Montréal (July 12) and Toronto FC (July 15), prior to hosting Orlando City SC (August 20) after the 2023 Leagues Cup tournament. All four matches are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Additionally, Chicago will close out the 2023 regular season with three of its final five matches in the Windy City, hosting the New England Revolution (Sept. 30), Inter Miami CF (Oct. 4) and Charlotte FC (Oct. 7).

May and September will feature the most road matches for the Club in a single month, with four in each. In May, the Fire will travel to face Nashville SC (May 6), Charlotte FC (May 17), the New England Revolution (May 27) and Toronto FC (May 31). Later in the season, the Club will play four of its five September matches on the road, traveling to face D.C. United (Sept. 2), CF Montréal (Sept. 16), Columbus Crew (Sept. 20) and the New York Red Bulls (Sept. 30).

The 2023 season will also see the debut of MLS Season Pass, the unprecedented subscription service from Apple and Major League Soccer that will have every match of the MLS regular season, Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs, and Leagues Cup – all in one place and with no blackouts. The launch of MLS Season Pass on Feb. 1, 2023 marks the official kickoff of the 10-year partnership between MLS and Apple, a historic first for a major professional sports league.

In addition, beginning in 2023, all 47 MLS and LIGA MX clubs will compete in a completely reimagined Leagues Cup: an annual, month-long, Concacaf-sanctioned tournament. Leagues Cup 2023 will make history as the first major soccer tournament to feature every club from a pair of top-flight leagues. The MLS regular season will pause following the July 15 games for Leagues Cup play and resume on Aug. 20. The complete Leagues Cup schedule will be released at a later date.
