Chicago Fire FC Acquires Goalkeeper Connor Sparrow

CHICAGO (Jan. 20, 2019) – Chicago Fire FC announced today that the Club has acquired goalkeeper Connor Sparrow. He is under contract with the Fire for the 2020 MLS season with contract options for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.


“We’re pleased to welcome Connor to the Club,” said Wicky. "He is a talented player who will provide depth and competition at the goalkeeper position.”

Since beginning his professional career in 2016, Sparrow, 25, has made 40 appearances with Real Monarchs SLC and Nashville SC. He was originally selected by Real Salt Lake as the No. 65 overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. In three seasons with the club, Sparrow made 31 league appearances for RSL’s USL Championship side, Real Monarchs.

In 2017, he made a career high 20 appearances (20 starts) and helped the team claim the USL Regular Season Championship. Prior to the start of the 2019 campaign, Sparrow transferred to Nashville SC and made nine appearances (nine starts) with the club.
