The Chicago Fire Academy U-16s played their final match of the 2016 Generation adidas Cup round on Monday morning against the Houston Dynamo academy.

Despite a goal from Victor Bezerra, The Fire were unable to hold off the Dynamo and ended their weekend in Kansas City with a 4-1 defeat to the Texas side. This result came two days after the Fire were defeated by the same scoreline against Toronto FC's academy on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 8). Andrew Akindele provided the lone Fire tally in that outing.

In January, the same six teams from the competition's Central Region round-robin (Chicago, Houston, Toronto, Kansas City, Columbus, and Dallas) will meet again in Houston, with the top teams after six matches advancing to the Generation adidas Cup finals in Frisco, Texas, in April 2017.
