Chicago Fire Academy U-14, U-13 Teams Played Weekend Pair of Matches in Vernon Hills

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Oct. 19, 2022) - Two Chicago Fire Academy teams returned home from a weekend pair of matches against FC United Academy. The two youngest age groups in the Academy went 0-1-1, with the U-14’s remaining undefeated, and the U-13’s dropping their match. All four teams will travel to Michigan to take on Vardar Academy this upcoming weekend.

U-14 Academy

The U-14 Academy remains undefeated in regular season play and extends their unbeaten streak to seven games, following a 1-1 draw against FC United Academy last Sunday. Scoring the lone goal for the U-14’s was Darren Hyte, who tallied his third goal of the season for the Academy.

The U-14’s look to get back in the win column and extend their streak on Saturday, Oct. 22 against Vardar Academy at the Oakland University Dome in Oakland County, Mich.

U-13 Academy

As for the youngest members of the Academy, they suffered their second loss of the season against FC United Academy. Miguel Campos got on the board for the U-13’s, but it wasn’t quite enough for the Fire Academy, who fell to FC United 2-1 on the road. They currently sit in fourth place in the Mid-America Division sitting just behind SC Wave and FC Cincinnati.

The U-13’s resume play this weekend against Vardar Academy, opening the Saturday slate for the Fire Academy with a 9:00 a.m. CT kickoff at the Oakland University Dome.

On The Road Again…

As for the two other Academy age groups, they’ll come off the bye weekend and head to the road, with all four age groups heading to Oakland County, Michigan to play against Vardar Academy in league play. The U-15’s look for their fifth win in a row on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12:00 p.m. CT, and the U-17’s will follow with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT.
