CHICAGO (Sept. 2, 2025) – Chicago Fire Academy players Roko Pehar and Oscar Pineda were called to represent the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team and the Mexico U-17 Men’s National Team, respectively.
Pehar has represented the U.S. Youth National Teams at the U-14 through U-17 age levels. He joins the U-17 USMNT in a camp led by U-16 Boys’ National Team head coach Alex Aldaz that will train from Sept. 1-8 at McCurry Park in Fayetteville, Ga. The camp is part of the U.S. Soccer Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
Pineda joins the Mexico U-17 MNT for the Vaclav Jezec Tournament in Czechia from Aug. 30-Sept. 9. Mexico will take on Slovakia on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Mnichovo Hradište Stadium before facing Turkey on Friday, Sept. 5 and Czechia on Sunday, Sept. 7, both at Radotín Stadium.
Primarily playing for the Academy U-18 side, Pineda made his professional debut with Chicago Fire II when he came on as a substitute in the 1-0 win against Toronto FC II on Thursday, March 13 at SeatGeek Stadium.
