Chicago Fire Homegrown midfielders Brian Gutiérrez and Sergio Oregel were in action for the United States Men's Youth National Teams on Wednesday, earning starts for the Under-20 and Under-19 sides, respectively.

Oregel, 17, was up first in a meeting with Malta in the 2022 Slovenia Nations Cup. Oregel earned his fifth appearance for the U-19s, and helped set up the sides first goal in the 16th minute with a crafty dribble and dish inside the 18-yard box that Reed Baker-Whiting finished. The U-19s went on to win the match 5-0, and will next look ahead to matches against Croatia on Friday, Sept. 23, and Scotland on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Gutiérrez,19, was then included in the starting XI for the U-20 side as they squared off against Peru in 2022 Revelations Cup play in Mexico City, Mexico. Gutiérrez was a key player in what became a 3-1 win for the U.S., as he scored the game's first goal to put the U.S. ahead just before the halftime whistle.

Gutiérrez is joined on the U-20MYNT by Fire goalkeeper Chris Brady, who did not feature in Wednesday's match. They will next face Paraguay on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 9:00 p.m. CT.
