After checking out his first Chicago Bears game during Monday Night Football earlier this week, Bastian Schweinsteiger showed his support for the Chicago Blackhawks in the early stages of their 2017-18 season Thursday night.

Schweinsteiger paid a pregame visit to Blackhawks captain and three-time Stanley Cup champion Jonathan Toews in the home team's locker room:

Wearing his custom No. 31 Blackhawks sweater, Schweinsteiger was invited to take part in the Hawks' "Shoot The Puck" intermission tradition alongside country music artist Brandon Lay:

Schweinsteiger came agonizingly close to converting his final attempt from center-ice:

The Blackhawks fell to the Minnesota Wild, 5-2.
