Chicago Fire FC II will travel north of the border for the second time this season to face Toronto FC II on Sunday, July 20.
Chicago will hope to spark a new streak against Toronto after dropping a nine-game unbeaten run against New England Revolution II last Sunday at SeatGeek Stadium. The visitors took a quick 2-0 lead before Homegrown midfielder Dylan Borso and defender Olu Oyegunle tied the match for the Fire. New England took another two-goal lead before Trip Fleming scored with four minutes left to make it 4-3. But the Fire could not muster another goal, dropping a match for the first time since April.
Toronto is in the middle of a three-game winless streak after dropping a road match at NYCFC II on Wednesday night. The tense affair resulted in a 1-0 loss for Toronto, which followed a 2-2 home draw against first-place New York Red Bulls II and a 5-0 loss at second-place Philadelphia Union II.
Sunday will feature the rubber match of a three-game series this season between the Eastern Conference rivals. Chicago fired the opening salvo with a 1-0 win in Bridgeview in only the second game of the season. But Toronto got revenge in their last meeting, a 2-0 victory for the Young Reds at York Lions Stadium.
