MATTHEWS, N.C. (Sept. 4, 2026) – Chicago Fire FC II (10-10-6-3, 39 points) fell 4-0 against Crown Legacy FC (14-5-7-5, 54 points) Friday evening at the Sportsplex at Matthews. Chicago closed out the road portion of the 2026 regular season schedule just a few points away from playoff position.
The hosts broke through late in the first half as center back Andrew Johnson headed home a set piece by Nathan Richmond, who added a goal of his own minutes later to send Crown Legacy FC into the locker rooms with a 2-0 lead.
Chicago pushed forward out of the break, leaving a gap in the back that led to a red card in the 63rd minute for denial of a goal scoring opportunity. The numerical advantage helped the Charlotte FC affiliate pull two more goals in stoppage time to seal the result.
NEXT MATCH: Chicago Fire FC II will open its last homestand of the 2026 regular season with a match against Philadelphia Union II on Sunday, Sept. 13. Kickoff at SeatGeek Stadium is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT, with match entry and parking free for fans. The match can be streamed across the globe on OneFootball and MLSNEXTPro.com.
