Chicago Fire FC II wraps up a short two-game road trip with a midweek visit to South Florida against Inter Miami CF II. The Eastern Conference matchup kicks off at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, June 25.

Chicago arrives in the Sunshine State with a six-game unbeaten streak in tow. Following a win and a shootout victory in two straight matches at home, the Fire traveled down to the Piedmont Triad for the first time to take on Carolina Core FC on Saturday, June 14. The Foxes opened the scoring in only the fifth minute, but first team defender Chase Gasper equalized shortly before halftime to give his side a 1-1 draw on the road. After nine consecutive good shots, goalkeeper Patrick Los saved the last shot of the shootout to steal an additional point on the road for Chicago.

Miami was also last on the road, but saw a different result in a 2-0 loss at Toronto FC II on Thursday, June 12. The Herons had the larger share of possession and shots, but the Young Reds were sharp on both ends of the field to take the shutout victory.

Wednesday’s match will be only the sixth meeting between both Eastern Conference sides since 2022. After winning their first meeting in 2022, Miami has been unable to defeat Chicago in the last four, with the Fire having a 2-1-2-2 edge all time over the Herons.

By the Numbers

1 – Chicago leads MLS NEXT Pro with the fewest fewest cautions issued (13) and is tied for the third lowest number of fouls (129). The numbers make the Fire the only team with fewer than 15 yellow cards this season, and one of three with under 130 fouls this season. This discipline has reduced the number of free kicks in dangerous areas, and has helped keep the lineup consistent for much of the season.

3 – Goalkeeper Patrick Los leads all of MLS NEXT Pro with three penalty kick saves this season. The Chicago Fire Academy goalkeeper showed off his specialty in the 2-2 draw against New England on June 8 that kept the Fire one goal behind before Claudio Cassano struck to earn a point. Last time out at Carolina Core, Los did not see a penalty in regulation time, but made the only save in a shootout that gave the Fire an additional point after the match.

6 – Six players have appeared in every match for Chicago Fire II this season, a remarkable display of consistency for one of the hottest teams in MLS NEXT Pro. Leading the way are goalkeeper Patrick Los and captain Diego Konincks, who have appeared in all 1080 minutes of action for the Fire. Jean Alpha Diouf and Claudio Cassano each have over 900 minutes in those appearances, while Dean Boltz and Juan Miguel Calle each have over 550 minutes in spot starts and off the bench.

Player Spotlight: Harold Osorio

Chicago Fire FC II midfielder Harold Osorio was called up to the El Salvador National Team earlier in June for two 2025 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches as well as the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Osorio started his qualifying campaign with nine minutes against Anguila, before coming on as a halftime substitution against Suriname in a 1-1 draw. When Gold Cup play began for El Salvador on June 17, the Chicago Fire II midfielder was named a starter against Curacao in the 0-0 draw. He then earned starts against rivals Honduras and Gold Cup favorites Canada as one of the best players of his side. El Salvador bowed out in the group stage, but Osorio left his mark on the squad.

His considerable minutes in 2026 World Cup qualifying and the 2025 Gold Cup came in addition to a spot on El Salvador’s 2021 squad that participated in 2022 World Cup qualifying. He was then part of the 2023 Gold Cup squad, earning minutes against Martinique and Panama during the Group stage of the regional tournament. Osorio previously had eight senior national team caps for El Salvador after making his debut as an 18-year-old in a scoreless draw against Costa Rica on Aug. 22, 2021.
